Al Kennedy High

Our Mission

It is our mission to help form a lasting culture of sustainability in our school and community through hands-on projects, education, and positive leadership.

History

Al Kennedy High School has a long history of environmental stewardship. Creating a Green Team was a logical next step to ensure that the work we do in our school and community will continue. The Green Team has been active for about over a year and each year it continues to grow. Currently over 20% of the students in our school's cohort program are actively involved.

Projects/Events planned for this year:

This year we will continue to do work in our school garden and work in partnership with Lane County doing weekly wetland mitigation at Quamash Prairie. In addition to this we are currently improving upon our current school-wide composting program by building a worm composting bin. We are also partnering with Urban Honey to bring honey bees to our campus in order to help promote vegetable growth in our garden and our neighboring community.

Important Club Info:

Green Team meetings are Tuesdays and Thursday from 12:25-1:20. All meetings are part of our SPARK elective class.
